Cedar Shake Roof Replacement with Timberline Shingles

This cedar shake roof was replaced with Timberline Weathered Wood shingles. The roof is about 25 years old and was pretty close to the end of it’s useful life; although not leaking yet some of the shakes had blown off during high winds.

The owners didn’t want to install another cedar shake roof because the current one didn’t last as long as it was supposed to. The property has heavy tree cover that kept the cedar roof in the shade, the shade prevented the roof from drying out and allowed moss and algae to grow; not the look they were going for.

This roof is very steep, its almost like working on a wall! Using tethers the men are able to work safely and comfortably on the roof.

Finished! Now that the roof is completed the Owner will have the house repainted. We replaced all of the old flashings and painted the vents and plumbing vents to match the roof. The new shingles have algae and fungus resistance and will stay clean and good looking.
